Rules & Guidelines Explained – Part 1
Community Participation Agreement
By connecting to the Live Your Life RP server and participating in gameplay, you acknowledge that you are entering a shared, immersive roleplay environment governed by our community rules, in-game laws, and roleplay standards.
Your actions, words, and behaviors—both in-character and out-of-character—are your own responsibility. By joining the server, you agree not to hold Live Your Life RP, its staff, administrators, or affiliates liable for any consequences resulting from your conduct within the community.
We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and engaging space for all members. By continuing, you confirm your understanding of these expectations and your agreement to uphold them.
Reminder: You must be at least 18+ years of age to play on our FiveM Server.
Media Participation Notice
Live Your Life RP is a creative and collaborative space where many members actively record and stream their gameplay. By joining the server, you acknowledge and accept that your voice, character, and in-game actions may be captured and shared publicly across platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, and others.
Participation in the server implies your consent for this content to be used in various media formats. You waive any rights to restrict, claim ownership of, or seek compensation for the use of your likeness or gameplay footage by Live Your Life RP, its members, or affiliated content creators.
If you choose to be part of this community, you’re also choosing to be part of the stories we tell—together, live, and unscripted.
Whitelisted Careers in San Andreas
Live Your Life RP offers a range of whitelisted career paths for players who are ready to take their roleplay to the next level. These roles—such as Law Enforcement Officers (LEO), San Andreas Fire Department (SAFD), and San Andreas Medical Services (SAMS)—are essential to the structure and realism of the server, and they come with added responsibility, training, and expectations.
To ensure that these roles are filled by committed and capable individuals, we ask that players:
- Spend at least a few weeks actively engaging in the server before applying.
- Take time to understand the community, the roleplay culture, and how these jobs function within the world.
- Demonstrate maturity, consistency, and a genuine interest in contributing to the realism and integrity of the server.
Once you’ve settled in and feel ready, you may submit an application for the whitelisted job of your choosing. Each department has its own onboarding process, training requirements, and expectations—all designed to support immersive, high-quality roleplay.
Please note:
- Whitelisted roles are not guaranteed and are granted at the discretion of department leadership.
- These positions are held to a higher standard of conduct, both in-character and out-of-character.
- Abuse of authority, failure to follow procedures, or lack of engagement may result in removal from the role.
If you’re ready to serve the state of San Andreas with professionalism and purpose, we encourage you to explore these career paths and become a pillar of the community.
Community Standards
To maintain a safe and inclusive space for all players, the following topics are strictly prohibited in any form of in-character or out-of-character communication:
- Real-world politics
- Religious debates or commentary
- Sexual bias or content
- Racial slurs or discriminatory language
These subjects often lead to division and conflict, and they have no place in a community built on collaboration and respect. Violations of this policy will be taken seriously.
Roleplay Expectations
Our goal is simple: create a space where everyone can enjoy immersive, meaningful roleplay. That means:
- Don’t join the server just to cause chaos.
- Random violence, senseless destruction, or trolling will not be tolerated.
- Your character should behave in a way that makes sense within the world of San Andreas.
- Strive for realism, depth, and consistency in your roleplay.
We want you to have fun—but not at the expense of others.
In-Server Communication Policy
Live Your Life RP is committed to maintaining immersive and realistic roleplay. To support this, all communication while actively playing on the FiveM server must occur through in-game voice or text systems.
Using Discord or other external platforms to communicate during RP is strictly prohibited.
This policy helps ensure:
- Fair and immersive interactions for all players
- Prevention of metagaming and out-of-character influence
- Consistency in roleplay quality across the server
Please Note:
- You may use Discord for coordination before or after RP sessions, but not during active gameplay.
- Violations may result in warnings or disciplinary action depending on severity and frequency.
- Exceptions may be made for staff or emergency situations, but must be approved in advance.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping LYL RP authentic and enjoyable for everyone.
—
The only permitted external communication platform during RP is TeamSpeak, and only for authorized personnel such as:
- Law Enforcement Officers (LEO)
- San Andreas Medical Services (SAMS)
- Fire Department
- Dispatch and Communications Staff
These roles may use TeamSpeak for operational coordination, provided it aligns with their department’s protocols and does not interfere with in-character immersion.
Admin Discretion
While we aim to cover all major rules and expectations, no list can account for every possible scenario. If a situation arises that disrupts gameplay or goes against the spirit of the community, and no specific rule applies, the LYL Admin Team will make the final decision on how it is handled.
Their judgment is based on fairness, community standards, and the overall health of the server. All players are expected to respect and comply with these decisions.
Client-Side Modifications
To ensure a fair and consistent experience for all players, client-side modifications that provide an unfair advantage are strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Speed hacks
- Invincibility or god mode
- Trainers or cheat menus
- Any mod that alters gameplay mechanics in a way that breaks realism or balance
If you’re unsure whether a mod is allowed, ask a staff member before using it. Unauthorized mods will result in disciplinary action, including potential removal from the server.
BE WARNED: CFX WILL BAN YOU AUTOMATICALLY IF YOU HAVE ANY TRAINERS/GAME HACKS RUNNING ON YOUR SYSTEM. WE HAVE NO CONTROL IF THIS HAPPENS.
Realism in Gameplay
Live Your Life RP is built on immersive, story-driven roleplay. To maintain that experience, we ask all players to keep their actions grounded in realism. While action and excitement are part of the world, excessive use of high-powered weapons or over-the-top behavior breaks immersion and disrupts the flow of roleplay.
We’re here to tell stories—not play out chaos for chaos’s sake.
Character Model Usage
To preserve the uniqueness and continuity of established characters within the Live Your Life RP community, the use of base game pedestrian (ped) models for new characters is strongly discouraged.
Some long-standing members have developed deeply rooted characters using specific ped appearances. To avoid confusion or accidental duplication, all players must use the multiplayer character creator to design their own unique look unless they have received explicit prior approval from the LYL Council.
Please note:
- Approval for using base game peds is not guaranteed and is granted at the sole discretion of the Council.
- If your character is found to resemble an existing, established character, you will be required to recreate your character using a different model.
Respect the creative work of others and help maintain the integrity of our shared roleplay environment.
Firearm Ownership & Registration
In the state of San Andreas, Constitutional Carry is recognized. This means that citizens are not required to obtain a concealed carry permit (CCW) to legally possess or carry a firearm.
However, to maintain accountability and realism within the community, all firearms must be registered with your local Sheriff’s Office upon purchase or acquisition. This ensures that law enforcement can verify ownership and maintain accurate records in accordance with the San Andreas Revised Code (SARC)—specific code references to be finalized and published in the near future.
Failure to register your firearms is considered a violation of state law and may result in in-character legal consequences, including fines, weapon confiscation, or arrest.
Responsible firearm ownership is a key part of immersive roleplay. Please ensure your character follows the proper procedures.
General Whitelist Inactivity Policy
Live Your Life RP maintains a whitelisted server to ensure a high-quality, immersive roleplay experience. To keep the community active and engaged, we monitor player activity over time.
If a whitelisted player is inactive for 30 consecutive days, their access to the server may be subject to removal. However, before any action is taken, an attempt will be made to contact the player through Discord or other available channels.
Key points:
- Whitelist removal due to inactivity is not automatic; it is handled manually and with consideration.
- If you plan to be away for an extended period, we encourage you to notify staff in advance to retain your whitelist status.
- Reapplication is possible if removed, but may require a brief review or re-approval depending on current server capacity and activity levels.
We value every member of the community and understand that life happens. This policy is in place to ensure active players have access while still respecting those who may need time away.
Council Authority & Rule Management
Live Your Life RP is a dynamic and evolving roleplay community. To maintain a high-quality experience for all players, the LYL Council reserves the right to modify, update, or introduce new rules at any time, with or without prior notice. These changes may be made to address emerging gameplay issues, clarify expectations, improve fairness, or respond to community feedback.
In addition to managing server rules, the Council holds full authority to remove, kick, or ban any player from the server at their discretion. While this power is not exercised lightly, it may be enforced in cases of:
- Severe rule violations
- Disruptive or toxic behavior
- Threats to community safety or immersion
- Repeated disregard for server standards
In most cases, disciplinary action will only occur following a significant infraction or ongoing misconduct. However, all players are expected to respect the Council’s decisions, which are made in the best interest of the community.
By continuing to participate in Live Your Life RP, you agree to follow the most current version of the rules and accept the authority of the Council to enforce them as needed.
